BNL Working group studies results.
This page collects results from the working groups studies as well as some resources.
Results
See also the "talks" page.
From Milind:
From Steve:
- Production comparisons between MARS and GFluka
in [PDF]
or [PS].
From Brett:
- A set of probabilities for different CP phases and w/ and w/out
matter effects made for Marciano's SAGENAP presentation:
[v1],
[v2(final)].
Also included is prob vs L/E for comparison from
SuperK's DATA/MC vs. L/E result from
1998 "Evidence for..." paper.
- A set of
event rate expectations
for BNL-HS distance with
neutrino energy smeared at 0, 10 and 20% for nu_mu and anti
nu_mu w/ and w/out matter effects.
- More event rates with
statistical error bars. This also includes some plots showing the
CP phase - theta13 degeneracy.
Resources:
From Brett:
- Oscillation probability area
(see also software area).
See the info,
tables and
plots sub
directories for respective file types. Files are named based on
the input parameters with fields separated by "_". In order,
the fields are:
- Neutrino type
- Baseline in km
- Solar dm2
- Atmospheric dm2
- sin^2(2theta_12)
- sin^2(2theta_23)
- sin^2(2theta_13)
- CP angle in deg.
- Matter density (-1 == PREM)
The .info files have input parameters in a more verbose form.
The .vec file has columns of energy in GeV, baseline in km and the
prob for nu_x to nu_e, nu_mu and nu_tau at that energy and
baseline.
- Cross
sections ripped from Milind's nusim. See the
readme
file for descriptions.
- NuMI
flux produced with the "GNUMI" beam MC for different baselines
and angles. The flux (second column) is in units of PoT/cm^2.
The first column is energy in eV at the center of 500 MeV bins.
4e6 gnumi protons on target were used to generate these fluxes and
the
gnumi-flux.cc
program run on GNUMI ntuples to translate the on-axis MINOS
baseline to the various other baselines.
- Fluxes ripped
from nusim.
The se-* files are taken from nusim's common blocks, 00 means on
axis, 15 means 1.5 deg. Units are neutrinos/Gev/PoT/m^2.
